Rogoznica is a tourist destination 34 km from Šibenik, situated at the southernmost part of the region of Šibenik. It is placed at the mainland area called Kopač and on the islet of Kopara. The islet is connected to the mainland by an artificial embankment, thus becoming a peninsula.
There is a well protected anchoring port for small and big vessels. A dense pine wood and the walkway "lungo mare" are characteristics of Rogoznica.
The mainland part of Rogoznica – Kopač was inhabited in 1390, and the islet of Kopara was settled by the inhabitants from the surrounding areas looking for a refuge from the Turks in 1518. The oldest church is the one dedicated to St. John of Trogir built in 1324.Rogoznica is a favourite summer resort of nature lovers and nautical tourists due to the famous nautical port "Frapa". Private accommodation (apartments and rooms) is available.
