Ražanj was traditionally a small fishermen's settlement, but at the beginning of the 70ies of the 20th century the construction of weekend houses and tourist objects started, resulting in the development of tourism.

Today there are about 180 inhabitants. Ražanj owes its tourist popularity to the atmosphere of a calm environment, natural beaches and clear blue sea.
